Nothing can stop the rumour juggernaut that is Samir Nasri’s supposed transfer to Arsenal, with message boards, school playgrounds and mental wards alike rife with discussions about the finer details.
But straight from the horses mouth, which would be Arsene Wenger, it seems that while the transfer is likely to go ahead it’ll either happen in the next couple weeks before Euro2008 or not at all:
“It is likely to happen,” he told Telefoot.
“And if it does happen, it will be before the start of the European Championship.”
Anyway, with the big stories of Arsenal’s summer so far it looks like the club are in for a reasonable shakeup with key midfield departures and arrivals on the cards, but it looks like the policy of eschewing big, proven names for more developing talents remains.
Are the supporters pleased or a tad worried about another ‘transitional’ year?
