Premier League outfit could sign Manchester United’s backup ‘keeper, while Fulham are also interested.Manchester United backup goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is a target for Premier League duo Fulham and West Ham, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Danish shot-stopper looked in with a chance of becoming the club’s number one earlier in the season, with some doubts over David De Gea, but Sir Alex Ferguson now appears to favour the former Atletico Madrid man in goal.
United have still been linked with other goalkeepers in the transfer window this summer, as some doubts remain over De Gea, but Lindegaard doesn’t seem to have done enough to convince Ferguson that he is a real alternative to the Spaniard.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce fancies Lindegaard as a long-term replacement for veteran ‘keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, despite the 38-year-old recently signing a one-year contract extension at Upton Park. Meanwhile, Fulham are looking to replace 40-year-old Mark Schwarzer.
Martin Jol’s side have been linked strongly with Roma’s Maarten Stekelenburg, who nearly joined the club in January, but it is understood that his sale depends on the Rome side’s ability to sign Tim Krul from Newcastle United, and they will face competition from Serie A rivals AC Milan for his signature.
Lindegaard has only made 16 Premier League appearances since joining Manchester United in 2010.
