Matic’s agent talks up clint in the face of United interest.
The agent of Manchester United target Nemanja Matic has said that he is unsurprised that big names are circling around the player this season, The Express reports.
Matic has been a ever present for Benfica this term, bagging five goals in 33 games and his performances have attracted interest from a number of clubs ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
However, it is United who are paying the most attention as he caught the eye whilst they were scouting his teammates Ezequiel Garay and Nicolas Gaitan.
And the player’s agent, Dejan Mitrovic, believes that the interest has been completely justified.
“With how Matic is doing it is normal that clubs are interested in him,” he said.
“It is amazing how his game has developed and how he plays in every game; so many clubs want to watch a player like him. At Chelsea he never had any good opportunities and he is now feeling well at a big club like Benfica.”
Matic joined Benfica from Chelsea, via Vitesse, in 2011 having failed to make an impression at Stamford Bridge. He made just three appearances during his time in London before making way as part of the deal that saw Brazilian defender David Luiz come to the Premier League.
