Old Trafford name Everton boss as the man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson
Man United have confirmed that Everton manager David Moyes will take over from Sir Alex Ferguson as the manager of the Old Trafford side at the end of the current campaign.
The 50 year old Scot takes the reins from Ferguson having spent over a decade in charge of the Toffees, taking over at the Merseyside club in March 2002 and guiding Everton to nine top eight finishes in his 11 completed seasons in charge. Perhaps more impressively the Glasgow born boss has done so on something of a shoestring budget.
Moyes has signed a six year deal with Man United and takes over a side that has had Ferguson at the helm for over a quarter of a century, that’s quite a pair shoes to fill.
David Moyes’s Everton contract was due to come to an end this summer.
Everton are currently in sixth spot, some six points from behind fifth place Tottenham but ahead of city rivals Liverpool.
