Contact has already been made says midfielder.
Porto midfielder has dropped a hint that Manchester United have already approached his club about a possible transfer, according to talkSPORT.
The 21-year-old has been watched by the English champions for over a year now, but face competition from French side Monaco in the race for his signature. A deal to bring him to Old Trafford was close last summer, but Nani’s move to Zenit St Petersburg broke down so the talented Colombian stayed put.
However, now that Alex Ferguson has stepped away from the hotseat, new boss David Moyes is expected to follow up on his predecessors interest with a bid of his own.
Rodriguez has been instrumental in helping Porto win a third successive league title by bagging 10 goals in 30 games. He joined the Portuguese giants from Argentinian side Banfield in 2010 and has gone on to make 100 appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals.
He is just one of a number of names expected to leave the club this summer with the likes of Joao Moutinho, Jackson Martinez and Christian Atsu all being linked with moves away.
There are offers on the table for Rodriguez, but he is choosing to remain philosophical by saying: “There are offers from other clubs but if I stay at FC Porto another year I’ll be satisfied because it’s a winning club.”
