Monaco set sights on United winger.
Monaco have identified Manchester United winger Nani as their next target in a big summer of spending, and are said to be ready to offer £20million for his services, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Portuguese attacker has had a disappointing season at Old Trafford, managing just 2 goals and 2 assists all season despite United’s Premier League title win, leading to suggestions that the Red Devils could listen to offers for the former Sporting Lisbon player.
The 26-year-old has only shown glimpses of his talent since arriving at United in 2007, but he hit new levels of poor performances this season, culminating in his red card against Real Madrid in United’s Champions League defeat in the quarter-finals.
A number of other clubs have been linked with Nani, including Juventus and Real Madrid, though neither are willing to pay as much as Monaco, who are keen to bring in a whole host of big names this summer after gaining promotion to Ligue 1 in France.
Backed by their wealthy Russian owner, Claudio Ranieri’s side have already signed Radamel Falcao for £50million, as well as sealing a double swoop for Porto pair Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.
Their ambitions do not end there though, and they will hope to bring in the likes of Hulk and Eden Hazard along with Nani to bolster their attacking options.
