Brazilian club Santos have revealed that they are hoping to sign Robinho from AC Milan this summer according to Goal.com.

The club are looking to replace highly-rated striker Neymar, who they sold to Barcelona for £48 million at the beginning of this month.

Now Santos are moving to spend the money they earned in the Neymar deal and former Manchester City striker Robinho is top of their wish list to replace Neymar.

Santos president Odilio Rodrigues has admitted that the club have opened talks with AC Milan about bringing Robinho back to Brazil.

“We look forward to a brief reply [from Milan] later this week. We want to understand whether the purchase [of Robinho] may be feasible or not, but I think so,” said Rodrigues.

The 29 year old former Real Madrid striker has been the subject of interest from Santos for many months.

The player was linked with a move to Santos in January but the deal fell through.

Milan will be looking to sell the striker this summer as his contract runs out in 2014.

Robinho began his career at Santos before moving to Real Madrid.

Since his time at Madrid, he has played for Manchester City before going back to Santos briefly on loan.

He then made the move to AC Milan and could end up back at Santos for the third time in his career.
