Juve star proud of English links.
Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has admitted that he is flattered by the interest shown in him by Premier League giants Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old has been a long time target of the Red Devils and new boss David Moyes is expected to follow up on the initial interest shown by Sir Alex Ferguson. French big spenders Monaco have also been watching the player, but so far no concrete offers have been made.
And the midfield ace admits that though he doesn’t know where his immediate future lies amidst all the speculation, he is flattered by the links with England’s biggest club.
“There are things to be proud of, but I am not sure if they are true,” Marchisio told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I have not heard from anyone at Manchester United or Monaco.
“When I talk with my club everything will become clearer.”
Marchisio is currently on international duty with the Italian national side ahead of their upcoming Confederations Cup campaign, and he has insisted that for now it is the job at hand that he is focussing on.
“Now I only think of the Confederations Cup. That is all that is important at the moment,” he added.
