Old Trafford centre-back could be on his way.
Man United captain Nemanja Vidic’s not attendance in his side’s pre-season touring squad has led many to believe that the Serbian could be about to quit the Old Trafford side with the Daily Star claiming the experienced defender could be set to join AC Milan.
The 31 year old has struggled with injuries over the past couple of seasons, making just 24 Premier League starts over the course of the last two campaigns, but is reportedly perfectly fit enough to take part in early pre-season preparations and AC Milan are readying a move to capture the centre-back.
There is growing speculation that David Moyes is lining up a move for Argentine Ezequiel Garay, a move that would in theory push Vidic down the pecking order with the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones all possible option for the Man United boss to turn to.
Vidic has at times been a hugely important member of the Man United defensive set-up but is arguably now a player the club can consider selling and if AC Milan put in a strong enough offer it may well prove that the battling defender could feel that the time is right for a new challenge.
