Manchester United are interested in in-demand AS Roma defender Marquinhos according to the player’s agent, reports the Daily Mail.

The Brazil Under-23 international has been attracting the attention of a whole host of big-name clubs from across the Continent of late after a string of fine displays for the Serie A giants last season, with the likes of Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona also both understood to be keen on signing the youngster this summer.

The 19-year-old has only been in the Italian capital for a year now, having originally arrived at the Stadio Olimpico from Brazilian outfit Corinthians in July 2012.

And in his debut campaign for the Giallorossa, the centre back appeared in 26 matches in total in all competitions, with Marquinhos starring at the back for the Romans, despite his tender years and lack of top-level experience.

As a result the central defender’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has now confirmed to Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo that: “There are offers from PSG, Manchester United and Barcelona – and Roma could accept one of them.”

However, it is thought that big-spending PSG are the favourites to land the Brazilian youngster, with the Parisians and Roma currently negotiating a £25 million transfer for  Marquinhos to move to the Parc des Princes this summer on a five-year contract.
