David Moyes is definitely trying to make a big impression in Manchester after being appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement at the begining of the month according to the Daily Star.
The former Everton boss has been linked with Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and remarkably Lionel Messi this summer already. But the most talked about saga this summer has to be about a transfer out from Old Trafford as England international Wayne Rooney seeks a new challenge, following what is coming up to nine years at the club.
Today, the Daily Star claim that Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas will be the player that sends the Rooney move over the edge. It is reported the former Arsenal man will be Wayne’s replacement as they fail to see the 27 year-old as a striker these days.
Chelsea are the only team to have tabled a bid for the want away striker, which is claimed to be £20million after rumours speculated that it was in fact £10million plus Spanish play-maker Juan Mata.
Whilst, United have made two offers for Barcelona’s midfielder, up to £30million, but they appear to have both been rejected.
David Moyes has come out and poored cold water on Wayne leaving Old Trafford this summer, but the British media are yet to listen to the Scots man’s words.
“We have said he is not for sale,” claimed Moyes, “that has not changed. I do epect Wayne to be in Stockholm.”
Moyes hopes to have Wayne for the friendly against AIK Solna in Stockholm, on August 6th.
