Sporting director keeping eye on Portuguese ace.
Monaco’s sporting director Vadim Vasilyev has claimed that the club have been offered the chance to sign Manchester United winger Nani, Sky Sports reports.
The Portuguese international’s future has been cast into doubt since the arrival of new manager David Moyes, and with just a year left on his current deal he would represent excellent value for a club willing to take him away from Old Trafford.
Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has already moved to straighten the principality side thanks to the additions of Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Joao Moutinho, Eric Abidal and Jeremy Toulalan, but the club’s big spending isn’t thought to be stopping there.
And Vasilyev has stated that a move for the 26-year-old could be appealing to them in the run up to the start of the new season.
“He has been proposed to us,” Vasilyev told French newspaper L’Equipe. “He is a very good player, but there have been no talks so far.
“We have already changed our group quite a bit and we also want to offer opportunities to our young players.
“We still have time to make a few alterations before the end of the transfer window, if needed.”
