Julian Draxler has become one of the highest rated youngsters in the world with his current club, Schalke 04, pricing the playmaker at €45million after attracting interest from Europe’s giants – such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.
Now it has come out that the rising star wishes to join Real Madrid one day, with former Madrid star, Raul, tipping him to do so within the next two seasons according to Goal.com.
“Julian has a bright future ahead of him. I expect him to make the step to an English or Spanish top club within one to two years,” claimed Raul at a press conference.
“And I would obviously prefer it if he were to join Real Madrid rather than Barcelona. I would like to continue giving him tips and advice.”
The 19 year-old himself has already spoken out about claims linking him to German giants Borussia Dortmund, telling reporters : “unless they brainwash me, I will never join Dortmund.”
Although, Julian has attracted large bids already, he has a five-year deal with the Bundesliga side and admits his heart does not feel now is the right time to move.
“I had sleepless nights about it. I was on holiday in Egypt with my girlfriend and sat alone on the balcony thinking about what to do,” the wonderkid told Bild, when questioned on his future.
“It was not an easy decision. You never know whether you will ever get such an offer again. In the end, I followed my heart and decided to remain at Schalke.”
