Turks hope to seal move for full back.
Turkish side Besiktas will make a move for Manchester United full back Alexander Buttner should the Premier League champions manage to sign Everton’s Leighton Baines, talkSPORT reports.
Untied boss David Moyes has already seen a bid of £12 million rejected by the Merseyside club this summer, and though it’s been quiet on the transfer front lately a fresh bid for the England international is likely to be made over the coming days.
Moyes was the man who originally signed Baines from Wigan Athletic and is keen on working with him again.
And should Moyes eventually be successful in his pursuit of the England international then that will cast a major shadow over Buttner’s future, and Besiktas are thought to be keenly monitoring events in the Northwest of England.
Baines’ arrival, as well as Patrice Evra’s continued presence at the club would mean that the 24-year-old’s chances of playing regular first team football would be severely limited.
He made just five appearances in the Premier League last term, with just eight more coming in the various cup competitions that United were involved with, but that hasn’t put off the Turkish giants who will make a move as soon as Baines’ future is set.
