Chelsea boss biding his time over England man.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that there is no time frame on his pursuit of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Sky Sports reports.
Rooney has been strongly linked with a move to west London all summer after becoming unsettled at Old Trafford, and though the Premier League champions have insisted that he is not for sale that hasn’t stopped the special one from continuing his interest.
“There is no time limit,” said Mourinho.
“We have our squad of strikers. We have identified the player as one we would look to have with us.”
United boss David Moyes is said to be frustrated by the repeated interest and has remained adamant that the club will not be letting him go.
However, Mourinho has insisted that his side have acted accordingly in their interest and have used no underhand tactics in their activity, insisting that all enquiries and bids have gone through the proper channels.
“We are doing things legally, making the official bid directly to the club, no interviews or comments or direct relations with the player, no contact, absolutely nothing,” Mourinho added.
“We have done it in an ethical way and we are going to do that until the last day. And we will see how it comes.”
