Old Trafford outfit hope to land talented centre-back.
Man United are readying a move to use Japanese international Shinji Kagawa as bait in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic according to Portuguese source Abola.
David Moyes has barely used 24 year old midfielder Kagawa this term and feel he could be a handy player to use as the Old Trafford side look to strengthen their defence with a move for Serbian international Subotic after a shaky start to the current campaign.
Jurgen Klopp may well be tempted to bring Kagawa back to the Westfalenstadion where the Man United man proved very successful during his spell at the club.
In his two seasons at Borussia Dortmund Kagawa netted 29 goals and helped the club to back to back Bundesliga titles but his time at Man United has proved something of a disappointment and Moyes has handed the Kobe born attacker just one Premier League start this term.
Man United have managed just two clean sheets in seven Premier League fixtures and the manner in which they were thumped by local rivals, in a 4-1 defeat, may well lead Moyes to bring in central defensive reinforcements not least because 35 year old defender Rio Ferdinand is clearly in the latter stages of his career and Nemanja Vidic is still suffering with injury concerns.
