Old Trafford side to make new offer for Goodison Park star.
Man United’s lengthy pursuit of Everton left-back Leighton Baines is set to take a new twist with David Moyes ready to offer his former club £15m as well as the services of Ecuadorian international Luis Antonio Valencia according to the Daily Mail.
Having already welcomed Marouane Fellaini from the Goodison Park side Moyes hopes he can repeat the trick by landing the 29 year old England man and the offer they are set to make could be tempting enough for Roberto Martinez to consider, especially if Baines himself pushes for a Toffees exit.
With veteran Frenchman Patrice Evra being a little out of sorts and with back-up Dutch international Alex Buttner not impressing David Moyes the Old Trafford side are set to step up their interest in Baines, who is perhaps Everton’s most pivotal performer.
Man United failed with summer offers for Baines but this latest attempt could be enough to lure the former Wigan Athletic man to the Premier League title holders, a move that would take the wide-man to the ‘next-level’ and offer the talented defender the chance to compete at Champions League level whilst also giving his chances of forcing himself ahead of Ashley Cole in the national team set-up a very real boost.
Baines is into his seventh season at Everton and has racked up 253 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
