Check in to Newcastle United vs Liverpool

Newcastle United will look to land off-form Man United winger Ashley Young this January according to CalcioMercato.

28 year old Young has not really made much in the way of a impact since moving to Man United back in June 2011 and under David Moyes his first team chances have become fairly limited.

Thus far this season the former Aston Villa man has started just three Premier League matches and wasn’t named in either of the club’s Champions League starting elevens against Bayer Leverkusen or Shakhtar Donetsk.

Indeed Moyes has even found time this season to admonish the attacker’s willingness to take a dive and the emergence of youngster Adnan Januzaj and the arrival of Wilfried Zaha could limit Young’s involvement, then if you factor in Nani and Luis Antonio Valencia as wide attacking options it would appear that a bid for the England international could perhaps be accept by Man United.

Young failed to score a single goal in 19 Premier League fixtures last season and a fresh challenge, and regular first team football, could perhaps aid his push to secure a spot in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup finals squad.

Both Newcastle United and West Ham are keen on signing Young though a move in January may initially be a temporary loan switch that could lead to a permanent Old Trafford exit.
