Old Trafford side to take close look at Saints teenager this weekend.
Man United are reportedly taking a keen interest in Southampton left-back Luke Shaw with David Moyes having the chance to observe the teenager at close quarters this weekend when his Old Trafford side host the Saints this weekend.
The Manchester Evening News claim Moyes will check on the 18 year old full-back ahead of a possible January bid as the Premier League title holders look at possible moves to bring in a long term replacement for French veteran Patrice Evra.
Moyes will be given full financial backing in January to make any additions the Scot deems necessary when the transfer window re-opens and whilst Everton’s Leighton Baines is still his first choice left sided defensive target if such a move fails then Shaw will be next on his wish-list.
Shaw broke into the Southampton first team last term, making 24 starts in all competitions, and has been a regular during the current campaign and has earned a call up to the England Under 21 set-up as a result of his consistent displays for the St Mary’s side.
