Winger has barely featured all campaign long for the Premier League champions.
Out-of-favour Manchester United midfield player Wilfried Zaha is facing being axed by the England Under-21s following the player’s on-field bust-up with team-mate Ravel Morrison in midweek, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
The highly rated wide man was involved in a very public altercation with the West Ham United playmaker during Tuesday night’s 5-0 2015 European Championship qualifying victory over Lithuania at Portman Road.
As a result, it is understood that the England U21 national team manager Gareth Southgate is considering dropping Zaha from his squad from next month’s qualifier against Finland in Milton Keynes, with the former Middlesbrough boss said to have grave concerns at present about the 20-year-old’s attitude.
And Southgate’s concerns follow those of his predecessor, Stuart Pearce, who was also understood to have been worried about the Englishman’s commitment to the England U21s before he left the role during the summer.
Zaha, who was born in Zaire, made his debut for the England U21s in a 4-0 win against Belgium in February 2012, before the winger was then called up into the senior Three Lions squad for a friendly international against Sweden in November of that year, with the player going on to make his debut as a second-half substitute.
