Old Trafford boss David Moyes is refusing to panic after a less than glorious start to the season, which has left the Premier League title holders languishing in ninth spot in the table, but the Scot still intends to invest in his squad when the transfer window re-opens in January.

See who makes the top 10 best Manchester United signings.

A move for England man Baines has been ongoing for some time and after failed summer bids for the 29 year old Moyes may fancy his chances of finally landing his man.

Baines has been sidelined with a fractured toe and Roberto Martinez has seen Costa Rica international Bryan Oviedo step into the breach in excellent fashion, which could perhaps lead the Toffees to feel they can afford to cash in on Baines, for the right price.

Moyes would also look to freshen up his midfield with a bid for 24 year old Spaniard Herrera, with the Bilbao man perhaps feeling that a high profile January move could help him to secure his first senior national team cap.

Man United midfielders Anderson and Tom Cleverley have struggled for form and Marouane Fellaini has been out of sorts since his move to the club so another option in the centre of the park would be hugely beneficial.
