Young Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has emerged as one of Manchester United manager David Moyes’ top transfer targets during the January window and will make a £50m offer to land him, according to he Manchester Evening News.

The former Toffees boss is keen to bolster his squad in the new year after missing out on a number of high profile stars over the summer, but he is determined to stay at the front of the queue for starlet Barkley this time around as he continues to make himself known as one of the best young players in the English top flight.
Current Everton chief Roberto Martinez has insisted that not even a Gareth Bale-esque £86m offer would be enough to make him let his star man go, but the club are preparing themselves for a slew of offers in the new year anyway.
However, United believe that it will take a bid of around £50m to get the Merseysiders talking, even though Moyes is aware that he will have to work at rebuilding some bridges with his old side if there is to be any hope of a deal being done.
