The experienced centre-back will see his current four year contract with the Premier League club come to an end in six months time and is not likely to agree a new deal according to his agent Silvano Martina, who stated in a recent Italian radio interview;
“Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him,”
“Vidic is a very good player and will have no trouble finding a new club. For the time being we are remaining calm. However, at the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United.”
The 32 year old has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons but has played a more active role in first team matters this season, making 19 starts in all competitions, but the Serbian may feel the time is right to leave the club he joined back in January 2006.
Old Trafford boss David Moyes may well be keen on freshening up his central defensive options and as well as Vidic being on his way 35 year old veteran Rio Ferdinand will be out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Vidic has made a total of 282 appearances for Man United and has won five Premier League titles as well as the Champions League among a host of honours.
