The veteran stopper took to social media site Twitter to ask his followers who they thought would lose their job next after Michael Laudrup’s departure from Swansea City earlier this week, to which many of the replies came back with one word – Moyes.

Popular blogger Nooruddean Choudry, also known as @BeardedGenius, whose handle has 36,000 followers, told former England international Ferdinand: “You know full well what folk are going to say, you big stirrer.”

However, Ferdinand later denied that he was trying to take a dig at his manager by insisting that his tweet was taken wildly out of context.

Ferdinand has struggled for game time this season, though, and is set to be released by the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
