Moyes is known to be looking for new options to add to his flanks after the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia have all failed to impress this season.
Farfan has caught the eye of a number of sides across Europe this term after his fine form over recent seasons has seen him establish himself as a major player for the Gelsenkirchen-based outfit.
Premier League rivals Liverpool had previously been keen in landing his signature, but sources now claim that United will be frontrunners in any sort of transfer activity this summer as Moyes has made the Peru international one of his top targets.
“I’d expect a few changes on the flanks in the summer,” a club insider explained.
“Farfan I think is one player David has identified as a possible upgrade in that area.”
Schalke will also be expecting several big money offers for their talented young playmaker Julian Draxler as he continues to draw interest from both Arsenal and Bayern Munich, however, the club will be wary about losing two top players in the same transfer window and may be reluctant to do business on both.
