Old Trafford side want German youngster.
Man United are to enter the race to sign long term Arsenal target Julian Draxler according to the Daily Star.
The 20 year old Schalke star has successfully recovered from injury in recent weeks and David Moyes has sent scouts to monitor the highly rated German international.
Moyes has been linked with a host of Bundesliga talents with the likes of Toni Kroos, Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan also high up on his wish-list.
Schalke will demand any interested party stump up the £37m needed to trigger Draxler’s release clause and one would have to wonder if Man United will be able to persuade the attacking midfielder to make a move to Old Trafford given they are unlikely to be able to offer Champions League football for next term.
Moyes may well look to offload a number of his under-performing midfield and attacking talents with the likes of Tom Cleverley, Anderson, Shinji Kagawa and Javier Hernandez playing for their Man United futures.
Draxler has already amassed 138 appearances for Schalke and has 10 national team caps to his name and is likely to feature in Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
