The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the best part of a year now and his stock is higher than ever after the club recorded yet another Portuguese league title this weekend.
However, despite their victorious exploits this term the Argentine ace poignantly remains coy when quizzed over what his future may hold.
“I don’t know, we’ll see,” Garay told A Bola.
“My wife and I are very happy here and I hope to stay more years.”
Benfica lifted their 33rd title with a 2-0 win over Olhanense on Sunday at the Estadio da Luz, and Garay highlighted just how deserved the title was for the club.
He added: “We deserved [the title] a lot, I am very happy. This team are really very strong.”
Garay is still wanted at United despite current boss David Moyes receiving his marching orders on Tuesday morning, though fellow Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be keen on bringing him to White Heart Lane.
