Man United are willing to fork out €70m (£56m) to re-sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is keen to bring the young Frenchman back to Man United and as Sport Witness rightly points out, such an offer won’t be easily ignored by the Turin side regardless of what the 21 year old offers Antonio Conte’s side.

Pogba left Man United in July 2012 having fallen out with Sir Alex Ferguson and has gone on to play a pivotal role in Turin, helping Juventus to back to back Serie A titles and is rightly considered one of the best young players in European football and a player who will play a prominent role in Didier Deschamps’ 2014 World Cup finals set-up.

Pogba has made 89 appearances for Antonio Conte’s side in two seasons and a player Man United seemingly underestimated and now are looking to bring back.

Van Gaal sees improving his midfield options as a priority this summer and as such a move for Pogba is a sensible, if optimistic, one to consider.

Man United would do well to freshen up their central midfield options with Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, Marouane Fellaini and loaned out Brazilian Anderson all fighting for their futures at the club.
