Old Trafford bit-part player set for Russian move.
Check in to Australia vs Netherlands
Man United left-back Alexander Buttner is set to join Russian Premier League side Dynamo Moscow according to the Daily Express.
The 25 year old failed to unseat Patrice Evra for a regular first team berth and despite the French veteran’s likely Old Trafford exit it seems clear that the former Vitesse Arnhem man has been deemed surplus to requirements by Dutch coach Louis van Gaal.
£27m rated Southampton teenager Luke Shaw is expected to move to Man United and as such Buttner would do well to leave in order to secure some much needed first team action.
Buttner’s agent has talked up the possiblity of a move to Moscow, singing the praises of the Russian side, stating;
“The owner wants to take the club to the next level.
“I am convinced that the club can mount a title challenge and qualify for the Champions League.”
Though Buttner has looked very capable when called upon it is worth noting that the defender is still yet to win a single senior national team cap which perhaps tells it’s own story.
