Juventus Want To Sign Manchester United Left Back

Serie A champions target five-time Premier League winner.

Juventus still want to sign Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra, according to talkSPORT.

The 33-year-old was linked with the Serie A champions earlier this year, before he signed a new one-year contract at Old Trafford.

However, Juve remain keen on the former France captain, who is currently at the World Cup in Brazil, preparing for this afternoon’s quarter-final against Germany.

United recruited 18-year-old England starlet Luke Shaw from Southampton last month for a fee in the region of £30m and it is thought that he will be the club’s first choice left-back this season.

Shaw’s arrival is likely to result in significantly less game time for Evra and Juve hope to tempt him to Turin using the lure of a regular starting place.

Unlike United, Juve will be in the Champions League next season and this is another thing that the Italian giants could use to persuade Evra.

However, having sold Alex Buttner to Dynamo Moscow, United will be reluctant to allow Evra to leave.

Evra has played 377 senior team matches for United since signing from AS Monaco in January 2006.

He has won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, one Champions League and one FIFA Club World Cup with the Red Devils.
