Old Trafford side look to win race for Fiorentina winger.
Man United are desperate to land Fiorentina winger Juan Cuardrado despite the fact that the Colombian appears to be more likely to secure a move to either Bayern Munich or Barcelona, who are both reportedly chasing the player according to the Daily Star.
The 26 year old enjoyed a superb season in Florence last term, netting 15 goals in all competitions, before impressing at the World Cup finals and a summer move seems plausible.
Man United have apparently already registered their interest in Cuadrado and will offer £30m for his services though the player himself is apparently not overly keen on a move to the Premier League.
Having already signed Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw from Athletic Bilbao and Southampton respectively van Gaal would do well to improve on his wide attacking options as though while can of course call upon Spaniard Juan Mata to work out wide if needs be, as well as Belgian youngster Adnan Januzaj, the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Luis Antonio Valencia have offered little over the past year.
The lack of Champions League action may also prove an obstacle.
