Manchester United Put £18m Price-Tag On Flop Signing Of 2013

Marouane Fellaini

Fellaini has agreed personal terms with Napoli, but fee could be a hindrance.

Manchester United’s £27.5 million flop signing Marouane Fellaini has found a potential suitor that can put him out of his Old Trafford misery in the form of Serie-A side Napoli, but the Red Devils are asking for £18 million in order to release the Belgian.

Personal terms between Fellaini and Napoli have been agreed according the Daily Star, but the Italians might not want to shell out £18 million for the 26-year old, whose market price would have fallen much lower after a disastrous season in Manchester last term.

Fellaini failed to make any kind of a favourable impact for his former boss and mentor David Moyes last season, and turned out to be one of the reasons for the Scot’s axing as coach of the club.

United believe that they can recoup £18 million for the Belgian international though as quite a few other suitors from within England might be willing to take a gamble on him, owing to his splendid spell at Everton before his ordeal in Manchester.
