The midfielder has barely featured for the club for quite some time now and endured a disappointing loan spell with Fiorentina earlier this year – with the Serie A club turning down the chance to sign the Brazilian permanently.
The only real issue standing in the way of the 26-year-old’s departure is whether the Red Devils can find any takers, with even £5m proving too much to draw interest currently.
