Leicester City have confirmed some late transfer deadline day action as Nigel Pearson and his side look to build on the weekend draw against Arsenal at the King Power Stadium, with young Manchester United midfielders Nick Powell and Tom Lawrence both joining the Foxes.

Former Crewe Alexandra trainee Powell joins the club on a season-long loan deal and will be looking to continue his form from an impressive loan spell with Wigan Athletic in the Championship last season, after being given a start by Louis van Gaal in last week’s League Cup defeat against MK Dons.

Lawrence, meanwhile, has signed for the Foxes on a four-year deal for a permanent fee, being allowed to leave United despite being rated as a potential start of the future by the likes of Ryan Giggs.

The Wales Under 21 international followed up an exceptional loan spell with Carlisle United in League One last season by making his debut in the Premier League victory over Hull City, along with fellow academy graduate James Wilson.

He becomes the third United player to arrive at the King Power Stadium this summer, following youngster Jack Barmby who joined after his Old Trafford release, with all three looking to contribute as Leicester fight for Premier League survival.
