The Red Devil’s only signed the Spaniard in January but are willing to offload him just one year later as Louis van Gaal look’s to build a side capable of challenging for silverware.

The Dutch coach is even willing to sell Mata for a loss with his current price tag being £7 million less than what United paid for him earlier in the year.

The 20 time Premier League champions embarked on a spending spree this summer with the likes of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao being brought to the Theatre of Dreams.

These new signings appear to have put Mata’s place in the United first team in doubt with the 26 year old set to be confined to the bench in his sides’ next fixture against QPR on Sunday.

Juventus are the side who seem most interested in recruiting the former Chelsea man however, they may not be able to afford his price tag.

The Italian champions may look to offer Arturo Vidal as part of any deal to sign Mata with United known to be interested in the Chilean enforcer.
