Argentine ace says he moved to Manchester United because of van Gaal.
Manchester United’s record signing Angel Di Maria has admitted he moved to Old Trafford because of the chance to work with Louis van Gaal, and now wants to repay the Dutchman for the faith he showed in him, the Guardian reports.

The Argentine left Real Madrid to join up with van Gaal in a £59.7 million move and he admits that the prospect of playing under the former Barcelona coach was an offer he couldn’t refuse.
”Van Gaal was really important for me in order to come here,” Di María told Perform. “[He] was one of the first [people] who spoke about bringing me here. The coach always has the last word about the players he wants. I am really grateful to him because, thanks [to] him, I am now playing for United.”
Some pundits have suggested that United paid too much to sign Di Maria, but the winger says he will work hard to make sure he is worthy of the faith that his new club showed in him.
”I keep trying to improve every day and for that reason I wanted to come here to United. I needed to change my life. I will try my best to play the right way. I will try my best every match and show my arrival at Old Trafford was worthy.”
Di Maria was man of the match when the Red Devils beat QPR 4-0 on Sunday and scored his first goal for the club on his home debut.
