Arsenal were linked Mario Balotelli for much of the summer, but the Gunners decided against moving for him and the former Manchester City man eventually went from AC Milan to Liverpool for £16m.
The North London club then also shelled out £16m, to sign England striker Danny Welbeck from Manchester United.
After Danny Welbeck’s Champions League hat-trick against Galatasaray on Wednesday night, it certainly looks like Arsenal did well to snub Mario and sign Danny.
We think the Englishman is much better that his Italian counterpart. Here’s are six reasons why…
6. Welbeck is faster, making him more dynamic and better able to spearhead counter-attacks.

5. Welbeck is much more a of a team player and he works harder. He was played out of position for most of his Man United career, but he did not grumble.

4. In 58 Premier League games for Man City and Liverpool Balotelli has provided just one assist. Welbeck has made 10 assists in 105 league games for Man United and Arsenal.

3. Welbeck has never been sent off. Balotelli has been sent off five times.

2. Welbeck was sold by Man United because the club had big stars such as Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in his position. Balotelli was sold by AC Milan because the club found him disruptive and impossible to manage.
