The AS Roma star has been injured for several months.
Manchester United have received a boost to their January transfer plans with the news that AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman will prove his fitness before the transfer window opens.

The midfielder has been out of action for most of the year with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but Roma boss Rudi Garcia has confirmed that he expects the Dutch star to be back for the Champions League clash against Manchester City on the December 10.
“I hope to have him back at our disposal for the return match with City on December 10, a fundamental game,” Garcia was quoted by talkSPORT.
“Kevin is a midfielder of the highest level. We are waiting for him to return on the field, hopefully soon.”
This means that Strootman should be back to full fitness by the time the January transfer window opens, meaning Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal may be able to land one of his main transfer targets.
Last year’s Serie A runners-up appear to be reluctant to part with one of their star players and recently slapped a £60 million price tag on the 24-year-old.
That is unlikely to deter United though with van Gaal known to be a huge admirer of the midfielder’s talents.
