United and Bayern in battle for Serie A wide-man.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich look set to bid for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado this January, according to Fichajes.net.
The Red Devils have long been linked with a move for the Colombian international, who was on their radar during the summer transfer window, though a move never materialised.
Still, the player now looks set to agree to a new contract with the Serie A club which will see a £27.5m release clause placed in as part of the deal, which should be enough to attract buyers in January.
Cuadrado has been one of the most impressive attacking midfield players in Europe in recent times, and he would no doubt make an excellent signing for either United or Bayern.
Louis van Gaal already brought in midfielders such as Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera this summer, but could do with further additions in the wide areas due to some disappointing performances from the likes of Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young in that area, while the likes of Nani and Wilfried Zaha are currently out on loan.
Still, Bayern will provide competition for his signature this January as this new buy-out clause looks like allowing the player to leave.
