Old Trafford side looking to do business when the transfer window reopens.
Man United boss Louis van Gaal is lining up moves in the January transfer window as he seeks to secure a top four finish with the Daily Mirror claiming the Dutchman is keen on Benfica youngster Talisca and the Swiss defender Fabian Schar.
20 year old Brazilian Talisca Anderson is certainly the man of the moment in Portugal with the attacker netting eight goals in his first nine league appearances for Benfica and subsequently earned a call up to Dunga’s senior national team set-up this week.
Van Gaal sent scouts to monitor Talisca and watched as he netted a late winner against AS Monaco in Champions League action.
A move for solid FC Basel star Schar would serve to strengthen Man United’s leaky defence and the 22 year old will clearly not break the bank and would go some way to rectifying van Gaal’s problems at the back.
Phil Jones has struggled with injuries whilst Jonny Evans has been poor when called upon and this has led to youngsters Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett being thrown in at the deep end with varying degrees of success.
Marcos Rojo is still adapting to life in the Premier League and Schar would represent a cost effective option in January.
