Upton Park side chase Old Trafford wide-man.
West Ham are readying a January bid for Man United winger Ashley Young according to the Daily Star.
Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce has reportedly already enquired about the availability of the 29 yea rold England man and will hope his side’s excellent star to the season would aid their push to sign the Old Trafford star.
Young has started just four of Man United’s 13 Premier League fixtures this term and may well see his first team chances further limited when Luke Shaw returns from injury, with the former Aston Villa man filling in for the left-back in a more defensively minded role.
West Ham sit in fifth spot in the Premier League following their weekend win over Newcastle United and one imagines Allardyce will be rewarded with a decent transfer fund injection in January.
Man United paid Aston Villa £17m for Young back in June 2011 but would presumably accept around half the fee given his current limited role in Louis van Gaal’s first team set-up.
