Free agent keeper ready to commit to Old Trafford side.
Free agent keeper Victor Valdes has urged Man United to sign him as soon as possible according to the Marca.
The 32 year old has been training with the Old Trafford side and had appeared to be nearing a deal to join the club but as yet no offer has been sealed and this could be related to issues concerning Valdes proving his return to full fitness following a lengthy spell out with a anterior cruciate ligament injury since March.
AS Monaco had seemingly agreed a deal to sign the three time Champions League winner back in June though the Ligue 1 side have since attempted to back out of the four year contract agreed with the Spanish international, leaving Valdes effectively without a club.
One imagines that Man United are keen to avoid a similar mistake and may well wish to make sure Valdes is 100% fully fit before offering him a deal.
Van Gaal may see Valdes as an ideal keeper to challenge David de Gea for a starting spot.
