Southampton were also sensationally reported to be keeping an eye on the Dutch playmaker, as were Serie A side Juventus, though it appears any possible January move is off the cards due to the latest comments from Sneijder’s agent.

“The Galatasaray board told me that they won’t sell Sneijder,” said Guido Albers, according to Goal.com

“Wesley loves Galatasaray and the fans. Both he and his wife Yolanthe want to stay in Istanbul.

“If there is a club interested him, they have to negotiate with the Galatasaray board, not with me. Also, any club who wants him will have to pay the €20m release clause in his contract. Not €5m, €10m or €12m.”

Whilst Albers’ last statement definitely looks like a very public “Come and get me” plea to potential suitors, as he reveals just how much the 30 year old’s release clause is, it does appear Sneijder will be in a Gala shirt until the end of this season at least.
