The Colombian returned to the matchday squad during the Red Devils’ 2-0 victory over QPR on Saturday. He had even been left out of the squad for the game before against Southampton – which had led to some rumours that he had fallen out of favour with manager Louis van Gaal.
Falcao has now insisted that this was not due to injury problems, and said that he needs to play in order to improve his form. Despite not scoring for the 90 minutes he is happy with the way in which he performed against the Rs.
“It was 90 very important minutes for me. I need to play and I am very happy that I did. Obviously, I really hope to score soon, but the opportunities will come, I am sure of that,” the 28-year-old was quoted by Goal.com.
“I am fine. I feel really good. I am playing without any sort of fitness problems.”
The former Atletico Madrid man has now got three goals in 13 appearances for the Old Trafford based club, which is not enough considering his £6 million loan fee and potential £43.5 million deal for a permanent move.
