26 year old Polish international Lewandowski has been a moderate success since leaving Borussia Dortmund for Bavaria last summer but talk of a move to Old Trafford seems far fetched.
Louis van Gaal may well be looking for a fresh striking weapon but one wonders why Lewandowski would consider leaving a Bayern Munich side that is sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga.
Nonetheless this source claims that Man United are ‘ready’ to sign the powerful marksman in a £30m deal, with Radamel Falcao set to return to AS Monaco, with Lewandowski apparently ‘unsettled’ at Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski has bagged ten goals in 19 Bundesliga starts, which is by no means a poor showing, though two goals from seven Champions League outings is perhaps a sign of his under-performing on the biggest stage of all.
Man United will no doubt be looking to bring in a new forward with Dutch international Robin van Persie being well and truly ‘off the boil’ this season and Wayne Rooney being used in a more withdrawn role under van Gaal.
