As a result of injury to Massadio Haidara, manager John Carver was unable to bring the 31-year-old on for his first appearance in two years.
While Gutierrez missed out on Saturday, football fans were delighted to see him back on the Toon bench, and he is sure to get a huge response from the crowd when his time on the pitch, once again, arrives.
