The Dutchman has had mixed critics since taking over at Old Trafford this season, but has shown no signs that he is about to give up on his philosophy, saying he expects his players to be on the same wavelength as he is.

“I ask the players what they find, but I have a lot of corrections, but they have to agree with me otherwise they cannot perform at the next time,” he said.

“Most of the players don’t dare to do that (challenge the tactics) but when they have good arguments I listen.”
