Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on the performances of Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Argentine is a top performer in La Liga and could make a great upgrade for United in defence, with other big names such as Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund also on Louis van Gaal’s agenda.
Otamendi first caught the eye of big clubs such as United, Chelsea and Manchester City whilst at previous club Porto, and he has also shown he can do it in a more competitive league.
The 27-year-old could join fellow Argentines Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo if he does move to Old Trafford next season.
