Man United battle Tottenham and Man City in race to sign young Dutch international

Posted by

Man United have sent scouts to track young FC Porto left-back Bruno Martins Indi according to the Daily Mirror and Lousi van Gaal appears to see the Dutch international as a replacement for long-term injury victim Luke Shaw.

Tottenham and Man City are also keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old though Louis van Gaal may feel he has the best chance of luring the former Feyenoord man to the Premier League given he made the wide-man a regular during his time in charge of the Netherlands.

Shaw is expected to be out for a minimum of six months and currently van Gaal can call upon the likes of Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind or Ashley Young to fill in at left-back but Indi would prove a more natural option.

One wonders if Indi might be put off by the possibility of moving to Man United to act as a short-term replacement for Luke Shaw and could rightly fear being forced into a back-up option once the England man regains full fitness.
