GK: Simon Mignolet

Still Liverpool’s number one for the time being, though Klopp may well be tempted to look elsewhere for a better goalkeeper.

DC: Emre Can

A German youngster Klopp will know well from his time in the Bundesliga, Emre Can could do well under the former Dortmund boss.

DC: Martin Skrtel

Still an important member of this Liverpool team, Martin Skrtel remains central in this back three often utilised well under Brendan Rodgers.

DC: Mats Hummels

An ideal signing at centre-back, Mats Hummels has been linked strongly with Manchester United and Arsenal in the past, but would arguably be needed more at Anfield.

MR: Nathaniel Clyne

Well suited to this attacking wing-back role, Nathaniel Clyne should continue to line up on Liverpool’s right-hand side.

ML: Alberto Moreno

A player not fulfilling his potential at the moment, but Klopp may be about to get the best out of Reds left wing-back Alberto Moreno.

MC: Jordan Henderson

Liverpool’s new captain after the departure of Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson should remain at the heart of this Liverpool team under new management.

MC: Ilkay Gundogan

A crucial signing in midfield, Liverpool fans are crying out for Klopp to bring in Ilkay Gundogan, another former Manchester United target who could go some way to filling that Gerrard void in the middle of the park.

FR: Marco Reus

One of the best players in the world, Marco Reus may seem like an unrealistic target, but Liverpool have been linked with him in the past and could afford him if Barcelona make an expected move for Philippe Coutinho.

FL: Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang

Linked with Liverpool this summer, Borussia Dortmund wide-forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is an outstanding talent who’d be ideal to bolster this struggling Reds attack.

FC: Daniel Sturridge

Back in the Liverpool line up this season, Daniel Sturridge currently looks a better bet than Christian Benteke and could take his game to a whole new level under Klopp.
